Gardens

Do you know what a native and a colonial garden is?  You will find out!  3Sp went to 3-4Q and we started planting our seeds.  We paired up with someone from the other class and we started to plant. One half of the class was colonial gardens and the other half of the class was native gardens.  Step 1 was to mix the dirt around then put it into our cup. Then before you get the seeds you need to poke a hole in the cup but not that big.  Then one of the teachers comes around and gives you the seeds one time of seed is Love-in-a-Mist and Indian Berry Popcorn.  Once you get the seeds you put them in and then cover the hole like it was never there. There is a hole at the bottom and you take it out so that you can put water in it.  Once you put the hole in you have to put more dirt in so that the hole doesn’t even show.  Then once you are done filling in the hole you go over to the sink with your plant and put it under the water until the bottom starts to leak, then you go under the tray with your plant until it stops leaking. Then you go over to these apparatus, and it looks like a glass wall but has only flower.  You give your plant to Ms. Sprague and she puts it in the apparatus .  At the end we found out that our plants would go in the library.  We all now could see it even the kids that did not make the gardens yet.  That is the end of the native and colonial garden.  You now know what a Colonial and Native garden is!
