Hi my name is BENNY. Every month we have one assembly. At assemblies we sing songs and we talk about what we are learning in school. A few classes share what they are learning. For example, the 4th grade shared about the yellow zone, red zone, green zone, and blue zone. One song we sing every time is the Lilja School song. Assemblies are awesome!

Hi my name is Gianny and I am going to talk about our kindergarten buddy’s in 3’rd grade. My kindergarten buddy’s name is Avery and we have played many games together. Like a turkey game where we traced our hand and turned it into a turkey with our kindergarten buddy. Soon after we turned it into a turkey, we colored it. On Halloween we made monsters together and we turned it into puppets. We are going to see our buddies again on Thursday! It’s so much fun to play with our buddies!

Hello. My name is Nicholas. I am going to tell you all about an app named Freckle. Freckle is an app you can do on the ipad, chromebook, and more. First you must type in a password and then your first and last name. Then, there is 4 subjects you can do: Math, Science, Social Studies, and ELA (which stands for english language arts). In math, you can do fact practice or adaptive practice. Either way, you must get enough coins in order to go to the piggy store where you can buy clothes for your avatar. In math adaptive practice, there are 6 subjects you can do: base ten, geometry, measurement and data, operations and algebraic thinking, fractions, and financial literacy. In ELA there is also 3 things you can do: skills practice, library, and word study. In word study, it teaches you all about vocabulary like suffixes and everything else. In library, it makes you read a book (nonfiction or fiction) and quizzes you along the way. In skills practice, it is practically the same thing except it also talks a little bit about our language. If you try out Freckle I promise you will LOVE IT!!!

Zones

Hi my name is Roman and I’m going to tell you about the zones. The zone you mostly want to be in is the green zone. Now I am going to tell you how you can get in the green zone. You could think happy thoughts and take deep breaths, you could even use positive self-talk, you could give calm reminders and just keep trying your best! You should not be in the red zone. To get out of the red zone do the things to help you get in the green zone. There are 4 different zones: green, red, blue, and yellow. There are so many ways to get out of the red zone and to get in the green zone. Blue zone is like when your hurt, shy, sick, nervous and relaxed. Still you do not want to be in it you want to be in the green zone. If your in the yellow zone your embarrassed and jealous, overwhelmed, grouchy and crabby, annoyed, uncomfortable, anxious and worried. Its a lot right. And now I am going to tell you how to get out of the yellow zone.To move spots you could take a walk around the school, you could take a gulp of water, you could read the room and talk to a friend, take a break from everybody and read a book. Our whole class made a packet of all the zones and how to get out and how to get in. We’ve been talking a lot about the zones and my teacher Ms. Sprague has been teaching us a lot about the zones. Maybe when you’re at home you could make your own packet of red zone, yellow zone, green zone, and blue zone and how to get in them and how to get out of them.

Wampanoags

The Wampanoags lived in the Northeastern Woodlands.The Wampanoags live in  Massachusetts. In summer they lived in wetus. In winter they lived in longhouses. I just learned about their houses, spirits,roles of men & women and children. 

Also now I will tell you about the children.  Their children grow up to be a man or woman. The women... farmed, cooked, weaved and built wetus. The men hunted, built mishoons, and made tools. Also the Wampanoags helped the Pilgrims in the first winter. The Pilgrims arrived in Massachusetts a little bit south of Boston in Plymouth.

Hi my name is Anabelle.  Typing.com is a website that you can learn to type. Or if you already know how to type, it will teach you to type faster. This is how you get in. First you type in typing.com.Then you type in your class code. After that you type in the year and your class number. It will show 4 bars. You will hit the first one that says start.  Then your in. Typing. com has a game just like Reflex it is called ‘’Ninja to the Stars” but you don’t fall. On the top of the bar it will show continue u and r keys. Or it will show start. You will hit the start button. You can change your avitar. It will be fun!!!!!!

Hi my name is Savanah. We use Freckle in our classroom. It's a fun tool we use for

Math. You can use it on iPads, Chromebooks and more. We use Freckle on Chromebooks, but you don’t have to. When you use Freckle you earn coins then you get to go to the Piggy Store! When you go to the Piggy Store you are timed. You can only be in the Piggy Store for 2 mins. 

Before you go to the Piggy Store, you have to do assignments. Then you get to set a goal for the week! Once you finish your goal you get piggy coins! You also get to choose how much time you do your goal for, then you get piggy coins! You also get to practice and choose what you practice. You can do fact practice or adaptive practice. Freckle is so so so so so much fun! That's it for today!

Friday Free Time

Hi my name is Rhea, and I will be talking about Friday free time in 3Sp. So first of all I’m going to tell you how we earn it. And yes we have to earn it. And now you may be wondering how we might earn it. And how we earn it is by doing good deeds. Each good thing we do through out the week. One minute gets added to Friday free time, or more  it actually only matters what good thing we do. We also sometimes get a mitute added if we transition quickly. But if we don’t follow directions then we have to minus points from Friday free time. We always have Friday free time after recess. And if we earn more than 40 minutes, than we get some Friday free time before lunch and recess. After recess we get to vote if we want all inside or all out side or half and half.

These 7 note insterments are really fun to learn.  Third graders learn the recorders. 4th graders learn the ukulele. Hot Crose Buns is a really good beginning song for the recorders. Reflex Math

Hi I am Hayden and I am going to tell you about Reflex.  In Reflex you practice your math skills. Right when you get in Reflex you do a bunch of games to warm up.  Then you do Coach Penny’s picture puzzle. Then you get to play a math game.  There is a new game called Squirrel World it just came out. It sounds really fun. You are probably wondering how you get a game?  Well there is a sign that will say unlock game. I hope you go and play Reflex because it is so much fun!

Hi my name is Leah. I am pretty good at multiplication and division. But not as good as an adult. We have been doing Freckle and Reflex. Freckle is a new app for math. It is super fun. I love it so much! We have only been doing it for 3 weeks! And I am already so good at multiplication. But I need to work on division. Do you know multiplication and division?  I am shaur you do. I mean practice makes perfect right? But if you do not then practice and you will get better and better at it. If you keep trying you will reach your GOAL!!!!

Hi, my name is Zinny. It’s been three and a half weeks since we got our pet fish Mr. Pickles! Since then Leah and Quentin have been feeding the fish and have been doing a great job! Cursive

Hi my name is Samuel and my class started a new unit in cursive.  We started just yesterday and we learned how to spell the letter L in cursive.   I was proud of myself. But before we just go off and learn every letter in cursive we have to do it in order ok.  But I’m nice so I will tell you the order. So first we have to learn the loop letters. The loop letters are the letters with loops in them like L and H and E.  So once we learn all of the loop letters we will still have a lot more to go. Here are some of the groups of letters we have to learn. The loop letters, up and down letters, and the hump letters.  Oh and I’m just starting there’s a whole lot more to learn.
