Beach Day!

Featured Blogger: Katherine
Hello my name is Katherine and today I will be telling you about Lilja’s first beach day of 2018!  If you were at the beach you would wear beachy clothes. So that is what we did.  We got to wear T-shirt, sunglasses, shorts and flip flops. We also could bring a towel!  The rest of the day we could wear our beachy clothes. But after recess the most awesome thing happened.  We had a… DANCE PARTY!!!! With DJ Mike! At the party there was some crazy dancing. And if you had really good dancing you would win a prize. (You know something crazy I won a prize for doing nothing!).  But if you did not want to go to the dance party you could go to the library. Everyone had so much fun at beach day! Thank you for reading my blog!

Cool Coding

Featured Blogger: Nora
Have you ever coded before?  Well you should because coding is so much fun!!  In class someone named Mr. Stephanowicz came in to tell us about coding.  At first he told us what coding is. Coding is like another language. If you program something you are coding.  We had four stations. The first station was to make code bands or bracelets. It was so cool. Station two was ozobots. To make them go you need to draw patterns on a paper.  The patterns tell the ozobots how fast they should go. Station three was making codes and undoing codes. That one was really fun but really hard. Station four was bluebots but on this one you press the arrows on the back of the bluebot to make it go.  The bluebot was my favorite station. Now l bet you want to go code right now because I would!!

Area and Perimeter

Featured Blogger: Ema

In math we started learning about something called area and perimeter. We learned that perimeter is the distance around a shape, and area is the space inside a shape. For example for a rectangle the width is the shorter side of the rectangle, and the length is the longer side of the rectangle. So what if the width of the rectangle is 11 and the length of the rectangle is 12. So it would be 12 times 11 equals the area of the rectangle. But the perimeter of the rectangle would be 12 +12+11+11 =22+24=46. So 46 would be the perimeter. But something harder would be the area and perimeter of a hexagon. That is a little harder because there are more sides. But it is basically 3 times 6 is the area. But the perimeter is 3+3+3+3+3+3= 18, and so 18 is also the area. We learned all kinds of problems with area and perimeter like the restaurant project we are still working on.  Like the problem when we had to calculate the whole area and perimeter of the whole restaurant, and trust me it was not easy and it was not super hard either. It was just like normal math except a little harder. Now I hope you know what area and perimeter is.

KK and KG Buddies

Featured Blogger: Jake
Enough is enough...I'm on my second blog baby!!!
This blog is about my KK and KG buddies, as you can tell because of the title.  On Thursday KK came to our class. On Friday KG came to our class. We had to make Valentine cards for them. We used paper, glittery sprinkles, and stickers.  When we were done we gave them to our buddies. Also for Halloween we drew pumpkins and ghosts. They’re very funny and they make me laugh. I’m so excited for the next time we see our buddies!

I’m done bye.

Valentines Party!

Featured Blogger: Enzo
Hello!  This is my blog about the valentines party with our buddies! We had a bunch of fun!  First we had KG buddy's! It was a whole lot of fun... except cleaning up. All the valentines looked amazing!  Some had hearts on them, some had stars on them, and it was so fun passing them out to my classmates!

This is our other pair of buddy's, KK.  We made a lot of valentines together! At the end, we were so tired and we did not like cleaning up, but it was really, really fun!

Jump Rope For Heart

Jump Rope For Heart is a fundraiser to help people with heart infections. The more money and donations you make the more keychains you get.  The keychains have names.  The theme this year is…  monsters to scare away the heart infections.  They are a squad.  The squad name is the Scare Squad!  The leader's name is Jax.  The others are Finster, Rocky, Petunia, and Blaster.  Some of the gifts you can get is a jump rope, jump T-shirt, playground ball, stick ball, toss and stick, mega rocket, and a action camera.  If you make a $40 online order you can get a glow in the dark wristband, Charger, and Disco.  Charger is another member of the Scare Squad.
So it’s time to get up and moving.  Also time to build up some muscle and get healthy!  So see you next time. Keith O-U-T out!

Auction Writing

Featured Blogger: Audrey
Hi!  It’s Audrey, and I am blogging about auction writing.  Auction writing is when we write a book for the Lilja Auction.  It is sports themed this year! We would be assigned a certain game/ sport, then we made a ¨spider web¨ that had the plans of our 1st and our final draft.  When we make our final draft it will be put into a book. Then someone will win it in the auction!  It will tell you about all the games we wrote about!  For example: cow, bowling, soccer, hockey, skunk in the barnyard, and rainbow monster!  (Some of those games were made up by my class and I!)
Here are the rules of an auction.  First, the item is shown to the people betting.  Then, one person in the crowd yells out a price they will be able to pay.  After that, other people in the crowd yell out higher prices that they are willing to pay, and that keeps repeating until one person yells out a price that none of the other people can top, and then they get the item!  It's pretty complicated!

Thank you for reading, and keep betting!

(Only if you are a kid though!  Only adults should be betting!)
