Andy Taylor

Featured Blogger: Layla
Hi my name is Layla and I am going to teach you about a person named Andy Taylor and he is also my uncle. This person is an announcer at the US Open. He used to do other jobs too!  So he came to our class and talked about his job.  Andy also showed a lot of videos that he is in, and everyone really liked the slam dunk video because it was basketball and the moves were really cool too!  In some of the videos there were really famous people in it that are tennis players! In one of the videos there was a famous soccer player that was watching the US Open and he came down to the tennis court to talk to Andy.

After that Andy brought in a microphone, speaker, a computer, headphones, and a voice changer thing that he calls a magic box.  So before we did that he gave the class a script that says “Hi my name is                   and I am responsible, courteous, and kind. Why because I go to Lilja where we build character not just the mind.”  Once someone read the script we got to hear it and with the headphones you could hear yourself talking in the microphone!  After each person was done it was time to go to lunch, so some people wanted autographs from Andy!  He gave us his business cards so our class’s parents could talk to him or email him!  He also said he would put everyone's together so we could hear it and he did!  It was the most amazing thing we've ever done in the class!  The class all liked it and it was super duper fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monarch Butterflies and Honeybees

Featured Blogger: Jordin
Did you know that we were doing projects on monarchs and on honeybees?  I did the monarchs.  But first this is going to be fun.  Are you ready for this? Are you sure?  Okay then now let’s do this thing!  We had to learn more about the monarchs or honeybees.  We had to plan our posters and a week or so later we made our poster and we made our own picture. After that we had to practice presenting together with our personal partners.  My partner and I had to do traits of monarch butterflies.  We learned so much about how we can help monarch butterflies and honeybees!

We had lots of fun learning about the
midnight ride.

Amazing 13 Colonies

Featured Blogger: Angel
Hi my name is Angel and I'm going to tell you about what we learned about the 13 colonies in 3Sp.  We learned that people came to the new world because they were not happy in England.   They could have been doing something else with their lives.  People traveled to worship others.  They came from other lands.  The trip was often long and dangerous.  It could take two months or longer.  Storms often pounded the small ships.  Sometimes there wasn't enough food on the ship.  Many people got sick and died.

In the 1700s, there were almost two million colonies.  A lot of families came from Britain.  King George lll taxed the colonists on tea, paper, glass, lead, and paint.  The colonists were angry and started rebelling.  Then the British made more and more taxes and made the colonists more and more angry.  Then, they rebelled more and more!  After that, the British got rid of all the taxes except the tea tax.  But the colonists were still upset because they thought it was unfair.  They wanted freedom instead of being controlled by England.  I don’t want to spoil the rest for you so you should read books about it so you can learn about it!

The End!

Learning About the American Revolution

Featured Blogger: Jessica
Today I am going to be teaching you about what we have been learning about in school.
Here are the subjects we were learning about on the American Revolution.  The Boston Tea Party, Tea Act, Battles at Lexington And Concord, Intolerable Acts, Sugar, Stamp, And Quartering Acts, Sons And Daughters Of Liberty, Townshend Act, and the Boston Massacre.  We have many groups and each group has 4 different people, and each person writes about one of those topics but there are different parts to it.  There is part 1, and part 2, we are on part 2 and we are done with the parts.  There are only 2 parts to the article and we are done with both, so we are done with the entire study of the articles.

Now to get to some interesting facts about the Boston Massacre which I wrote about.  It started in 1770 and it was the Redcoats/British soldiers vs Patriots/Colonists.  The Colonists were angry that the British were in their country.  British were keeping watch over the Patriots.  The fight broke out in the Boston Common, 5 Colonists were killed, and I will also share some facts on The Boston Tea Party so let’s get started.  The Boston Tea Party started in 1773 the the Patriots were angry about the taxes on tea so they gave up drinking tea.  The Patriots got angry and threw tea off of ships in the middle of the night, they ended up throwing 342 boxes of tea off of the ships.  I hope you learned a few facts on The Boston Massacre, and The Boston Tea Party.

Pollinators Declining

Featured Blogger: Will
Guy 1:Did you hear that the pollinators population is dying out?
Guy 2:Yeah and without them there'd be almost NO DESSERT!
G1:We have to speak up to save them!
G2:OMG I just thought of a GREAT IDEA! We could make signs, go to town and protest to save the pollinators! We will become…THE POLLINATOR SAVIORS!
G1:Na dude that sounds SO LAME!
G2:Yeah I guess you're  right.
G1:But the signs and protesting are an OUT OF THIS WORLD IDEA!
G2:Thanks!
G1:We could also set up a lemonade stand, ice cream stand etc. and donate all of our profits to saving pollinators!
G2:Now THAT is an OUT OF THIS WORLD IDEA!
G1:Thanks man!
G2:Ok let's roll!
G2+G1 advice:JUST TRY TO SAVE POLLINATORS! DO WHAT WE DID!!!!!!
Now the information!!!!!!!
Pollination helps humans get stuff we need like fruit. say you have an orange or apple related thing like juice without pollinators you wouldn't have that juice! And say you're having dessert at your house without pollinators you Wouldn't have it! We need pollinators to help us with lots of things.
The end.
